Baco Awards – Vintage 2023

We are delighted to share with you a new success for López Cristóbal winery in the 38th edition of Baco awards. This competition, organized by the Spanish Unions of Tasters is the longest running in our country and has a jury of fifty experts who, after an exhaustive blind tasting, award the medals of the Baco Awards to the young wines of the vintage 2023.

First, our red young wine La Linde 2023 has been voted Best Spanish Red Wine, and also received a Great Gold Baco. The freshness and elegance of this tempranillo have been yet awarded by the past in this competition: vintage 2021 and 2015 received a Great Gold Baco Luis Hidalgo Award, as best young wine from Spain. This new award is a recognition of our work for maintaining a high and constant quality.

Besides, the Jury of the Baco Awards Vintage 2023 also awarded once again with a Gold Baco Award our white wine LC Albillo 2023, a monovarietal of Albillo Mayor. A white wine with a great personality.

LC Albillo Mayor 2023

This fresh white wine bursts with white fruits, light toasted notes, mineral and citrus aromas. On the palate, vanilla from the oak and hints of citrus come through. It’s lively, well-structured, with fresh crisp fruit and a finish full of ripe fruit. This vintage will be availaible in the next months.

La Linde 2023

This wine comes from the vineyards sharing the same name as the estate surrounding the winery. It’s made with Tinta del País and a very small percentage of Merlot. It’s a fresh and light wine, to be savoured by the glass, with lots of fruity aromas, sprightly, friendly and enjoyable. You will have to wait some time before its comercialisation.
